Special Note:  Aponogeton species need a rest period, where they should either be removed from the tank and kept for two months in a pot of damp river sand, or placed in a seperate room-temperature aquarium.  The tubor should be returned to the main tropical aquarium as soon as new shoots appear and will grow particularly vigerously after the rest period.
