Shipments and returns

Your shipment

If all items are in stock, orders are generally dispatched the next day after receipt of payment and are shipped with a courier.  A signature is required by the recipient on delivery, unless alternative arrangements are specified at the time of ordering (e.g. leave in shed).  Smaller packages are sent with Royal Mail and a signature is usually required, unless otherwise specified by the buyer.  

Shipping fees are calculated according to the total weight of the order, and include handling and packing fees where appropriate, as well as postage costs. Special care is always taken to protect fragile objects.

Live plants are despatched Monday-Thursday with a 'next day' service to ensure they arrive in optimum condition.  Fish and other livestock are only available to collect from the shop.

POstage costs

Postage costs are automatically calculated according to the total weight of the order, and usually range from £3.50 (up to 1Kg) to £8 (up to 5 Kg).

 

Consignments above 10 Kg cost 50p per additional Kg to ship.  If your shipping cost is higher than expected, please don't be afraid to query it - even computers make mistakes!

Returns policy

In the event of a product developing a fault whilst under guarantee, it will of course be replaced or repaired in line with the manufacturer's warranty proceedure.  In this instance we will endeavour to resolve the problem as quickly as possible, but please understand that there may be a delay while we order a replacement in the event one is not already in stock.  Responsibility for any postage costs for the replacement item remains with the buyer.  If you change your mind about a purchase and wish to return it, you may do so within 7 days of receiving the item. If the item is in its original packaging and a resalable condition, we will be happy to issue credit, less the original postage cost. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a full refund or credit for the return of custom made products (including custom  painted statues, pond liner, underlay or hosing cut from a roll, aquarium backgrounds etc) unless they are faulty.
